GOYA Fundraiser to Help Rebuild Ionian Village

On Saturday, October 29 the St. Nicholas GOYA will team up with the Philoptochos Society on a fundraising walk to raise money needed to rebuild the Ionian Village - our Archdiocesan camp in Vartholomio, Greece, which was heavily damaged by tornadoes on September 8.

The camp has been a highlight in the spiritual growth of thousands of Orthodox teens and young adults - many of them from our parish. Our GOYA wants to make sure the camp is ready to serve the next generation of young people as they grown in their Orthodox Christian faith.

The walk will be a casual event at Drace Park, 2310 Cedar Valley Road, 63131. It is just east of Interstate 270 and just south of Clayton Road. In fact, two log cabins in the park are visible from I-270. The park has a pavilion, a playground and a nice trail through the woods.

Drop in between 9 and 11 a.m. for bagels and refreshments, and take a stroll to help restore the Ionian Village. Suggested donation is $20 per person.

If you can't attend and would still like to help, please send your check, payable to St. Nicholas Church and with "Ionian Village" in the memo line, to St. Nicholas Greek Orthodox Church, 4967 Forest Park Ave., St. Louis, MO  63108.
