FOCUS Meal - Helpers needed

On Sunday, February 17, our high-school students will be working in class to help prepare part of the meal to be served that evening to homeless and otherwise needy people at the FOCUS center in St. Louis.

Aliki Malek (our 3rd-grade Sunday School teacher) and her husband Ronnie, along with some friends, are organizing the meal and providing our teens with a chance to participate in making it happen. The kids will be working on the salad and desserts.

FOCUS is an Orthodox Christian organization that provides meals, clothing, job training and other assistance to people in need. It is based at St. Michael the Archangel Orthodox Church in the McKinley Heights neighborhood, just southwest of downtown St. Louis.

Please encourage your kids to be be in class for this session, and to help in the project. More hands, of course, make for quicker work.

If the kids are interested in helping serve the meal that evening, Aliki's team needs a few more volunteers. High-school kids and their parents are welcome. Volunteers would have to be at the FOCUS Center (1901 Ann Ave, 63104) at 3:30 p.m. and would be finished around 6 p.m. Please see Aliki at 314.249.6045 if you or your kids would like to help serve.
