Welcome to the St. Irenaeus Orthodox Theological Institute

The St. Irenaeus Orthodox Theological Institute was established to provide a variety of educational and spiritual enrichment opportunities to Orthodox Christian adults and all those interested in learning more about the Orthodox faith. It is a pan-Orthodox organization serving all Orthodox Christians regardless of their ethnic and jurisdictional affiliations.

While Orthodox lay education is central to its mission, the St. Irenaeus Institute also encourages meaningful and respectful interaction with clergy, scholars, and laypeople from other faith traditions.

The Institute operates from its office at St. Nicholas Greek Orthodox church, the largest Orthodox Christian parish in the St. Louis metropolitan region and popularly known for its annual Labor Day Greek festival. It is under the administrative leadership of a Director and is provided spiritual direction by local Orthodox clergy.

Additional Institute resources include the Rev. George Mastorantonis Library, a large collection rich in Orthodox Christian history, biblical studies, theology, spirituality, and worship. The St. Nicholas parish bookstore carries numerous works for sale by a variety of Orthodox scholars and writers as well as titles published by the St. Irenaeus Institute.
