Spirituality & Pastoral Care

Mission Statement: Offer both the parishioners of St. Nicholas and its visitors opportunities to grow in the likeness of Jesus Christ, our Lord – the perfect model for all humanity – and encourage them to (re)discover the limitless treasures of our Orthodox faith.

Goals

  1. Engage all parishioners in the rich and grace-bestowing life of liturgical worship in our Church. This will be accomplished through inspiration, education of our children to learn our hymns and feast days, and encouragement of wider participation of the Sacred and Divine Liturgy, Orthros, Vespers, Paraklisis, and other services.
  2. Provide ample opportunities for parishioners to learn through adult classes, Bible studies, prayer services, and spiritual enrichment seminars. This educational program will allow each to fully embrace the transforming spiritual life of our Church.
  3. Equip parishioners with the wisdom and tools to better engage the hardship and struggles of life that strengthen the family and marital relationships.
  4. Evangelize and teach the Faith by creating opportunities to witness the Gospel of Christ to the heterodox and to establish an on-going class to educate catechumens in the fullness of Orthodox Christianity.
