Dear St. Nicholas Family,

We wanted to share some great news about the noteworthy progress we are making on THE NEXT 100 and to provide you with some very important updates.

THE NEXT 100 is an initiative to lead us into the next generation of St. Nicholas.  Our objective is to sustain and grow our programs, expand our ministries, enhance the communications with our parishioners, increase the utilization of our physical facilities, make capital improvements, continue to reduce our debt and create and endowment that will serve as a long-term investment for the church.  Our goal is to raise $1.5 million for this project.

Since officially launching THE NEXT 100 at our 100th Anniversary celebration back in December, we have already raised $300,000!

You may recall that an initial group of donors made a commitment to match all funds raised through February 14(Valentine’s Day).  In other words, every dollar paid or pledged between now and Valentine’s Day will be doubled through this matching program.  We have named this first phase of our project DOUBLE MY DONATION. Because of this program, the $300,000 that has been committed so far has been doubled to give us a current grand total of $600,000!  We’ve come a long way in this first month, but we still have a way to go; please consider helping us to get there.

There are just a few weeks left for you to take advantage of the matching program and to have your donation doubled.  This is a wonderful opportunity to talk with your family and consider making a gift – as a family – and in honor of or in memory of someone special to you. We will recognize all donors and those who they wish to honor on a donor wall in our beautiful Family Life Center.

We also wanted to let you know that we will be holding two informational sessions:

  • Sunday, February 4th (Godparents’ Sunday) – at church after the Divine Liturgy
  • Thursday, March 1st – 7:00 pm at the Family Life Center

Please join us at one of these sessions if you’d like to hear more about “THE NEXT 100” and the plans we have in store.

As you know, donations to the church are tax deductible- and donating stocks or bonds can provide the additional benefit of avoiding capital gains taxes- and there are many investors who have realized significant gains in these strong investment markets.

We look forward to you joining us in shaping the next 100 years of St. Nicholas’ history together!
