Junior Choir

Diana Ott, Junior Choir Director

One of the many ministries offered to our youth at St. Nicholas Greek Orthodox Church is participation in the Junior Choir. Here, the students are introduced to the responses and hymns of our church and learn their significance to the liturgy. Membership in the Junior Choir is an unparalleled opportunity for young children to learn more about their faith through direct practice in music. Membership in the Junior Choir is open to children from 4th-12th grades. The Junior Choir sings once a month for Divine Liturgy and other designated services thorughout the year. Choir members also have the opportunity to participate annually in a Junior Choir conference in the Chicago area. Rehearsals take place every Sunday immediately followng Sunday School in the mezzanine Conference Room at church for approximately 25 minutes. Evening rehearsals are scheduledthe 1st and 3rd Mondays each month from 7:00-8:30 pm in the Family Life Center Chapel. Choir members rehearse both in English and Greek phoenetics.
