Senior Choir

The Choir is a very integral part of our worship services where we give praise and glory to our Lord and God. The Church Choir offers the Liturgical responses at the Divine Liturgies, Holy Feastdays and especially during Holy Week and Pascha.  Participation also takes place at the Annual Metropolis of Chicago Choir Federation Conference.  Membership in the Senior Choir is open to all adults regardless of age or level of experience.  All voice ranges are always needed and welcome.  No audition is required, but we would welcome the opportunity to visit with you to let you know expectations and inform you of rehearsal schedules.  Please visit with Michael Doran, director and organist in the balcony following the Divine Liturgy on Sunday mornings or send an him an email.

Chanters or Psaltis are lay persons who assists the priest by chanting the responses and hymns in the services or sacraments of the church.

New chanters are always welcome to the psalterion on Sunday mornings. Chanters support the clergy musically at Orthros every Sunday from 8:00 - 9:20 am. Chanting at this service is rigorous and highly intensive, but also immensely rewarding spiritually. No prior experience is necessary; there is a fair amount of written material available to help you learn the musical content of the service.
